Held over two weekends, this can often result in the tagnrelease of well over two thousand Marlin among many other gamefish. The winning boats often tagnrelease up to 18 Marlin a day. Enormous baitschools of slimey mackeral, yellowtail and cowan young take up residence at Port Stephens during the warmer months, ensuring the neverending presence of blue, black and striped marlin.
